In Afraka today, one of the greatest obstacles to the spiritual awakening of our people is not only the propaganda of religions that demonized indigenous knowledge. Another obstacle is the misconduct of those who claim to practise that knowledge. Some turn spirituality into a weapon. Some turn it into a theatre of fear. Some turn it into a market where desperate people are sold imaginary enemies, urgent curses, guaranteed riches and premium packages of supernatural panic.

ISSUE 25

IN TODAYS EDITION, WE WILL TALK ABOUT SPIRITUALITY AND THE ABUSE OF OCCULT POWERS IN AFRICA...

Welcome to another edition of Awake Afโ€™raka Magazine.

In todayโ€™s edition, we shall examine a subject that demands courage, honesty and urgent attention: the abuse of spiritual knowledge and occult power. This article is not an attack upon Afrakan spirituality.
On the contrary, it is written in defense of it.
It is not an attempt to demonize our ancestral traditions, our sacred symbols, our gods and goddesses, our systems of divination, our healers, our mystery schools or those sincere practitioners who serve humanity with discipline and humility. It is an attempt to separate the sacred path from the criminal, selfish and destructive acts committed by people who hide beneath its name.
We must be mature enough to make that distinction.

If a corrupt doctor poisons a patient, medicine itself does not become evil. If a dishonest lawyer deceives a client, justice itself does not become evil. If a fraudulent pastor exploits a congregation, every sincere Christian does not become a fraud. In the same way, when an individual uses an Afโ€™rakan symbol, sacred title, herb, ritual or spiritual claim to frighten, manipulate, injure or exploit another person, the entire ancestral tradition should not be condemned for the corruption of that individual.

But the tradition must also not become an excuse. We cannot defend everything simply because it is called ancestral.
Ancient does not automatically mean ethical. Secret does not automatically mean sacred.

Powerful does not automatically mean enlightened.
And wearing beads does not turn wickedness into wisdom.

Then, when the public becomes afraid of our traditions, these same practitioners complain that Afโ€™rakan spirituality has been misunderstood.

My brother, if you advertise poison in an ancestral bottle, do not be surprised when people fear the bottle.

There are people who claim clairvoyance, divination, psychic sensitivity, ritual authority or communication with unseen realities. Whether every such claim is interpreted literally, symbolically, psychologically or spiritually, one ethical question remains: what does the practitioner do with the trust and influence placed in his hands?

Does he guide, heal, clarify and restore balance?

Or does he create terror, dependency, confusion and suffering?

Some practitioners accuse innocent relatives of witchcraft. Some threaten clients with death unless more money is paid. Some manufacture visions to control marriages. Some violate sexual boundaries and rename the abuse โ€œinitiation.โ€ Some give unknown substances to sick people while ordering them to abandon medical treatment. Some promise ritual wealth, lottery success or instant money, knowing that desperation has already weakened the victimโ€™s judgment. Others claim to direct occult forces against anyone who offends their pride.

This is not spiritual elevation.

It is the lower self with access to spiritual vocabulary.

The problem is not always the absence of knowledge. Sometimes it is knowledge entering a character that has not been purified.

A knife in the hands of a surgeon may save life. The same knife in the hands of a murderer may destroy it. Therefore, the issue is not merely power. The issue is the consciousness carrying the power.

This is why the old Mystery Schools did not separate ability from character. The Student was not simply taught how to perform an operation. The Student was trained to become the kind of person who could carry knowledge without being corrupted by it.

The true purpose of initiation was not to make the ego look mysterious.

It was to prepare the vessel.

Let us go deeper.

1. WHEN POWER ENTERS AN UNPURIFIED VESSEL

Many people seek spirituality because they desire peace, healing, understanding and union with the Divine. Others enter because they are wounded. Some enter because they are curious. Some enter because they want to recover ancestral identity. And some enter because they desire power over other people.

The final group is particularly dangerous.

They are not interested in mastering themselves. They are interested in mastering neighbours, lovers, employers, rivals and anyone unfortunate enough to disagree with them before breakfast.

They ask how to curse before learning how to forgive.

They ask how to compel love before understanding consent.

They ask how to command spirits before learning how to govern anger.

They ask how to become invisible while their motives are visible from the next village.

Such a person may learn a method, memorize a formula, acquire a ritual object or develop an unusual sensitivity, but this does not mean the person has become spiritually mature.

Occult ability and spiritual development are not identical.

The word occult simply points toward what is hidden, interior or not immediately visible. Occult study may involve symbols, ritual, altered states, subtle perception, the structure of consciousness, correspondences in Nature and traditions concerning unseen dimensions. Spirituality, in its higher meaning, concerns the evolution and alignment of the inner being.

One may therefore possess unusual knowledge without possessing wisdom.

One may know ritual and remain cruel.

One may possess sharp intuition and remain dishonest.

One may experience visions and remain emotionally unstable.

One may understand herbs and still exploit the sick.

One may speak with great authority about the higher realms while behaving very poorly in this one.

This is the first truth every seeker must understand: power does not purify character; power reveals and enlarges it.

If jealousy lives within the practitioner, power gives jealousy instruments.

If greed lives within the practitioner, power gives greed a sacred business card.

If pride lives within the practitioner, power places pride upon a throne and calls it enlightenment.

If compassion lives within the practitioner, power becomes service.

If discipline lives within the practitioner, power becomes responsibility.

If wisdom lives within the practitioner, power may remain silent until it is truly required.

This is why the unpurified vessel is dangerous.

Imagine pouring clean water into a dirty cup. The water may be pure at the source, but what reaches the mouth has taken the condition of the vessel. In the same way, a sacred teaching passes through the psychology of the practitioner. Fear may distort it. Resentment may weaponize it. Desire may commercialize it. Ego may declare itself the chosen representative of the entire invisible universe.

The teaching did not necessarily fail.

The vessel contaminated the expression.

The Shadow Within the Practitioner

Every person carries a lower aspect of self: impulses, wounds, fears, hidden desires and unexamined patterns. Some call this the shadow. Others call it the lower nature. Spiritual schools use different language, but the principle is recognizable.

The shadow is not conquered by pretending it does not exist.

A person may dress entirely in white and still carry darkness in intention. A person may fast, chant and burn incense while quietly desiring control. The outer performance does not automatically transform the inner motive.

The shadow must be faced through honest self-observation.

Why do I desire this power?

What part of me wants people to fear me?

Why do I become angry when my prediction is questioned?

Why do I need every misfortune to prove that my enemies are powerful?

Why do I feel important only when another person feels helpless?

Why am I eager to interfere in a relationship that has not invited me?

Why do I need to control the outcome instead of offering guidance?

These questions are spiritual practices.

The person who refuses them is not ready for deeper methods.

Some enter the occult path after humiliation, rejection or powerlessness. They imagine spiritual knowledge will finally make everyone regret how they were treated. But a wound seeking weapons does not become healed because the weapon is called mystical.

Such a practitioner may begin by promising protection and end by inventing enemies. He may tell a client that everyone is jealous, every dream is an attack, every headache is a curse and every family disagreement is evidence of witchcraft. The client becomes dependent because ordinary life has been converted into a supernatural war zone.

Meanwhile, the practitioner becomes commander, intelligence officer, weapons supplier and treasurer of a war that may exist primarily inside the fear he created.

This is spiritual abuse.

Spiritual abuse occurs when spiritual beliefs, authority or practices are used to frighten, manipulate, isolate, exploit or control another person. It may be committed by a pastor, priest, prophet, mystic, healer, diviner, teacher, group leader or family member. No tradition possesses a monopoly upon it.

The method may differ; the pattern is the same.

Fear replaces discernment.

Control replaces guidance.

Dependency replaces growth.

The practitioner grows richer while the victim grows smaller.

Clairvoyance Without Conscience

Let us consider the person who claims or develops clairvoyant perception.

Clairvoyance, in mystical traditions, refers to the reception of visual impressions beyond ordinary physical sight. Experiences described as clairvoyant may occur through imagery, dreams, meditation, intuition or spontaneous inner perception. Science does not treat every supernatural interpretation of such experiences as established fact, and the responsible practitioner should not pretend that every image is infallible.

An impression is not automatically a verdict.

The mind contains memory, fear, symbolism, expectation and imagination. Even a sincere practitioner may misinterpret what is perceived. Therefore, humility is not optional.

The clairvoyant who announces every private impression as unquestionable Divine truth is dangerous. The practitioner should ask:

  • Was this impression requested?
  • Is it relevant?
  • Can it be verified?
  • Could another interpretation exist?
  • Will revealing it help or merely frighten?
  • Am I speaking to serve the person or to display power?

Suppose a practitioner receives an image suggesting danger. A responsible approach is calm, conditional and practical. The person may be advised to take reasonable precautions, examine health or safety concerns and remain observant. An irresponsible practitioner announces death by Tuesday, demands payment by Monday and spends Sunday advertising prophetic accuracy.

That is not foresight. That is psychological violence.

There are words that enter a vulnerable mind like seeds. A frightening prediction can create anxiety, insomnia, impaired judgment and behaviour that makes ordinary danger more likely. This is why spiritual speech carries responsibility.

Do not place a coffin inside another personโ€™s imagination merely to prove that you can see.

Power as Theatre

Some practitioners do not even desire useful power. They desire the appearance of power.

They must speak loudly, dress dramatically, post cryptic threats and ensure everyone knows that offending them is spiritually expensive. They advertise themselves as dangerous because fear has become their brand strategy.

True power rarely needs such noise.

The Sun does not publish threats before rising.

The ocean does not announce its depth on social media.

The tree with deep roots does not argue with every bird that sits upon it.

When a practitioner constantly performs danger, it may reveal insecurity. The ego uses mystery as costume because ordinary character feels insufficient.

Magick and spiritual knowledge were not developed to decorate ego. They were not given so that one person could appear superhuman before frightened neighbours. The higher use of knowledge is alignment, service, healing, self-understanding and responsible participation in the order of life.

If a spiritual practice makes you less compassionate, less honest, less stable and more hungry for domination, ask whether you are ascendingโ€”or merely teaching the lower self new vocabulary.

2. WHY THE MYSTERY SCHOOLS CREATED GATES, DEGREES AND TESTS

Our ancestors were not foolish when they protected certain knowledge.

Across many traditions, advanced teachings were transmitted gradually. The Student first learned discipline, ethics, symbols, basic practices and the laws governing the path. Deeper methods came later. Instruction could be divided into stages, degrees, portals or initiatory passages.

The form differed across cultures, but the principle was preparation.

The Ifรก system, for example, preserves a vast corpus of signs, verses, history, language, beliefs and social knowledge through trained practitioners. It is not simply the throwing of a chain followed by whatever sentence first enters the mouth. A genuine tradition requires memory, interpretation, context, responsibility and transmission.

Traditional healers and craftspeople also learned through apprenticeship: observation, practice, correction and increasing responsibility. The Student did not simply obtain a secret and declare mastery. The Student became formed through the work.

This is what many modern seekers do not understand.

They think initiation is a ceremony that magically replaces development. They want the title, the garment, the photograph and the certificate. They want to stand before an altar and emerge three hours later as somebody whom the elements now address as โ€œYour Excellency.โ€

But authentic initiation is not only an event.

It is a process of death and rebirth within consciousness.

Something immature must be seen and surrendered. A greater responsibility must be accepted. The Student should leave the gate more accountable than beforeโ€”not simply more impressive.

The First Gate Is Ethics

Before a Student learns how to influence conditions, the Student must understand whether that influence is justified.

Before learning invocation, the Student must learn emotional stability.

Before working with another personโ€™s energy, the Student must understand consent.

Before making medicines, the Student must understand dosage, hygiene, toxicity, interactions and the limits of personal competence.

Before offering divination, the Student must learn confidentiality and careful speech.

Before discussing protection, the Student must distinguish real danger from paranoia.

Before approaching darker materials, the Student must understand the Path of Lightโ€”not as a slogan, but as an ethical orientation.

The first gate is not secrecy.

The first gate is character.

If a school teaches methods before responsibility, it produces technicians of impulse. If it flatters Students instead of correcting them, it produces spiritual actors. If it sells every advanced method to anyone who can pay, readiness has been replaced by revenue.

That school may have many levels, but the elevator is moving underground.

What Does It Mean to Be Worthy?

The word worthy has been abused. Some use it to create elitism or personal worship. But worthiness should not mean wealth, social status, race, gender or unquestioning obedience.

In a healthy mystery school, worthiness means demonstrated readiness.

Can the Student keep confidence?

Can the Student practise consistently?

Can the Student accept correction?

Can the Student distinguish symbolic teaching from literal instruction?

Can the Student manage anger without reaching immediately for retaliation?

Can the Student respect another personโ€™s freedom?

Can the Student recognize the limits of what has been learned?

Can the Student carry responsibility without becoming proud?

These are tests.

A Student who fails should not be humiliated. The Student may be halted, corrected and allowed to try again when ready. The gate protects both the Student and those who may be affected by the Studentโ€™s conduct.

Failure at a gate is not always rejection. Sometimes it is mercy.

A compassionate school does not push someone into practices that could intensify instability, fear or obsession. Nor does it interpret every crisis as proof that the training is working. If a Student becomes severely confused, sleepless, paranoid, unable to function or overwhelmed by frightening experiences, the responsible teacher pauses the process and encourages appropriate professional care.

Spiritual practice must not become a reason to neglect mental or physical health.

The World Health Organizationโ€™s work on traditional medicine emphasizes evidence, training, quality, safety, regulation and proper practice. This does not destroy tradition. It protects both the tradition and the people who rely upon it.

A poisonous herb does not become harmless because the recipe is ancestral.

A contaminated preparation does not become pure because prayers were spoken over it.

A delayed hospital visit does not become wise because somebody called the illness spiritual.

The genuine healer understands referral. If the condition requires medical examination, the client should receive it. If spiritual support may safely accompany treatment, let both forms of care operate within their proper boundaries.

The body should not become the battlefield of the practitionerโ€™s pride.

Secrecy and Its Proper Purpose

Advanced knowledge may be restricted for several legitimate reasons:

  1. Safety: an unprepared person may misuse or misunderstand it.
  2. Context: the method may make sense only after foundational teachings.
  3. Integrity: fragments released publicly may be distorted.
  4. Consent: some practices involve private or communal obligations.
  5. Preservation: a tradition may protect knowledge whose careless exposure would damage its meaning.
  6. Assessment: the teacher may need to observe how earlier knowledge was used.

But secrecy has limits.

Secrecy must never hide abuse, poisoning, assault, financial theft or exploitation. โ€œThe mysteries cannot be questionedโ€ is not a spiritual answer to an allegation of misconduct.

Likewise, secrecy should not become a cheap marketing device. Some people wrap ordinary advice in mysterious language, call it an ancient forbidden secret and add two zeros to the fee. Apparently, the Universe has introduced executive pricing.

The value of a teaching lies in its truth and responsible useโ€”not merely in the number of people forbidden to hear it.

The Teacherโ€™s Karmic Responsibility

A teacher is responsible not only for what is taught but for how, when and to whom it is taught.

If a teacher sees obvious instability, hatred or criminal intent and still supplies a harmful method for money, the teacher participates morally in the consequence. One cannot sell a blade to rage and then claim neutrality because the receipt said โ€œeducational purposes.โ€

The teacher must inquire into motive.

Why does the Student want this knowledge?

What has the Student done with earlier instruction?

Is the Student seeking self-mastery or revenge?

Does the Student understand boundaries?

Is the Student mentally and emotionally prepared?

Can the Student accept that some requests will be refused?

I have encountered people who ask directly for instruction in dark arts. They want curses, coercive love work, domination, retaliation and methods that would make an enemy suffer. I may understand the theories and histories surrounding such paths, but knowledge is not an obligation to distribute.

To teach darkness without balance is to hand a torch to dry grass.

The Student must first encounter Light, Love, natural law, cause and effect, self-examination, consent, responsibility and the discipline required to rise above the lower nature.

You cannot properly understand one side of the coin while pretending the other does not exist. Yet understanding darkness does not require practising cruelty. A physician studies disease in order to recognize and treat it; the physician does not need to spread disease to prove that the lesson was understood.

The mature occultist may study destructive patterns for discernment, protection and philosophical completeness. But the deeper the knowledge, the greater the restraint required.

This is why the true Mystery School forms character before extending power.

3. THE LAW OF CONSEQUENCE: MAGICK, KARMA AND THE RETURNING CURRENT

The ignorant practitioner believes an action is complete when the ritual is finished.

The wise practitioner knows that the ritual may only be the beginning of the consequence.

Within mystical philosophy, every thought, word and action places something into motion. Different traditions describe this through karma, compensation, cause and effect, moral consequence, spiritual return or the restoration of balance. The language changes. The principle remains: what we initiate enters a web of relationship, including our own consciousness.

Karma is not an angry old man hiding behind the clouds with a notebook. It is not necessarily instant revenge. It is the movement by which causes develop effects and imbalance seeks correction.

When a person repeatedly directs hatred toward another, the first consciousness trained by that hatred is his own.

When a person practises deception, he strengthens deception within himself.

When a person builds wealth through fear, he must maintain the fear to protect the wealth.

When a person becomes known for spiritual retaliation, he begins to imagine retaliation everywhere.

The attacker becomes a prisoner of attack.

This is why those who misuse spiritual practices often become obsessed with protection. Every disagreement appears dangerous because they assume others operate as they do. They surround themselves with defensive objects, constant rituals and endless suspicion.

They created a spiritual world shaped like their own intention.

The person who poisons the well cannot relax while drinking from the village.

โ€œYou Will Eat What You Cookedโ€

The simplest description of karmic responsibility is this:

You will eat the food you prepared.

If you plant fear, you must live in the atmosphere created by fear.

If you plant manipulation, genuine trust becomes difficult.

If you plant violence, your world reorganizes around violence.

If you plant healing, service strengthens the consciousness capable of healing.

This does not mean every misfortune is punishment for a past deed. Such thinking can become cruel. We should not blame the sick, poor or victimized by declaring that they โ€œdeservedโ€ their condition. Human life includes biology, society, accident, other peopleโ€™s choices and conditions far more complicated than our private interpretations.

Karma should create responsibility, not arrogance.

The true Student uses the Law to examine his own conduct, not to explain away another personโ€™s suffering.

The Price of Coercion

Much occult abuse is based upon coercion: the desire to make another person act against his or her free will.

This includes so-called love work designed to bind a specific person, sexual rituals performed without informed consent, domination intended to control an employer or partner and divination used to pressure someone into a decision.

Let us speak plainly: love without freedom is possession.

If a person does not freely choose you, forcing attachmentโ€”whether through ordinary manipulation, drugs, threats or claimed spiritual meansโ€”is not romance. It is domination.

Some practitioners advertise love potions as though consent were an unnecessary inconvenience invented by people without herbs. Beyond the ethical violation, unknown mixtures can be toxic, contaminated or interact dangerously with medicines. Secretly placing a substance in another personโ€™s food or drink is not sacred courtship. It is an assault upon bodily autonomy and may also be a crime.

The true path of Love does not remove another personโ€™s right to say no.

If you must conquer the will in order to obtain affection, what you obtain is not affection.

The practitioner who sells coercion also becomes responsible for the suffering that follows: obsession, broken relationships, fear, illness or violence. One cannot collect payment for interference and then pretend the Universal Law recognizes a limited-liability company.

Wealth at the Expense of Others

Another abuse concerns the search for money through spiritual means.

There is nothing inherently evil in seeking prosperity. Poverty does not make a person holy, and spiritual practitioners also need food, shelter, tools and resources. One may use prayer, affirmation, meditation, discipline and symbolic ritual to clarify intention, strengthen courage and support constructive action.

The abuse begins when wealth is pursued through deception, exploitation, sacrifice of innocent life or the deliberate deprivation of others.

No true prosperity requires a victim.

If your ritual wealth depends upon another personโ€™s blood, stolen property, manipulated trust or financial ruin, you have not attracted abundance. You have reorganized theft into ceremony.

The fraudster tells a desperate person, โ€œBring this amount and I will make you rich within seven days.โ€ If the promised wealth fails to appear, another blockage is discovered. Then another fee. Then an enemy. Then an ancestral debt. Then a final urgent cleansing, followed by another final urgent cleansing because the first finality was apparently provisional.

The only person becoming rich is the consultant.

Quick-money promises exploit frustration. They convert hope into a payment system. Real prosperity usually requires value creation, skill, work, opportunity, patience, cooperation, wise risk and sometimes favourable conditions beyond personal control. Spiritual practice may support the mind performing these actions. It should not be used to replace reality with fraud.

Lottery manipulation and guaranteed gambling success belong to the same theatre. If the practitioner could consistently produce winning numbers, one imagines the consultation room would be closed while the practitioner attended to a rather urgent appointment with the jackpot.

Ask sensible questions.

Spirituality must not cancel intelligence.

Causing Madness and Suffering

Claims that spiritual practitioners can cause madness, sickness or death exist in many cultures. Some believers interpret such claims literally; others understand them through fear, poisoning, social pressure, suggestion, trauma or untreated illness. What can be established beyond debate is that accusations and threats can produce devastating real-world consequences.

A person labelled a witch may be beaten, abandoned, expelled, tortured or killed. A child may be denied care. An elderly woman may be blamed for a familyโ€™s misfortune. A person with mental illness may be chained instead of treated. People with albinism have faced ritual violence because others attached false supernatural value to their bodies.

The United Nations has documented harmful practices connected with witchcraft accusations and ritual attacks. This should sober every person who claims to defend African spirituality.

There is no honour in turning ignorance into a death sentence.

A vision is not legal evidence.

A dream is not permission to attack.

A divination should not be used as a weapon against a vulnerable person.

If a practitioner identifies a possible conflict, the response should seek truth, protection, mediation and lawful safetyโ€”not mob violence.

When a person displays symptoms of mental illness, the family should seek qualified health care. Spiritual support may be offered if the individual consents and if it does not delay or replace necessary treatment. Madness is not entertainment for prophets, and a psychiatric emergency is not a stage upon which every practitioner should audition.

The Returning Current Is Also Psychological

Even if one temporarily sets aside metaphysical explanations, harmful practice creates a returning current within the mind.

The person who repeatedly imagines enemies may train vigilance into paranoia.

The person who obtains obedience through fear loses the possibility of knowing who truly loves him.

The person who earns through deception must constantly defend the lie.

The person who violates consent weakens his relationship with his own conscience.

The person who displays power to compensate for insecurity becomes dependent upon the audience.

The punishment is already growing inside the behaviour.

This is why the path of darkness can appear to reward someone temporarily while quietly narrowing the personโ€™s inner world.

One may gain money and lose peace.

One may gain fear and lose respect.

One may gain followers and lose the Self.

One may win a battle and become the very darkness one claimed to oppose.

The true mystic considers the entire consequence, not merely the immediate desire.

4. DEFENCE WITHOUT VENGEANCE: THE DISCIPLINE OF THE HIGHER PATH

Some will now ask: โ€œDoes this mean a spiritual practitioner must never defend himself?โ€

No.

The Path of Light is not the path of foolish helplessness. Compassion does not require volunteering to become another personโ€™s victim. Love does not forbid boundaries. Forgiveness does not mean remaining in danger. Non-retaliation does not mean refusing lawful protection.

The question is not whether one may defend life.

The question is how.

Protection and Retaliation Are Different

Protection seeks to stop harm.

Retaliation seeks to make the offender suffer.

Protection establishes a boundary.

Retaliation feeds upon anger after the danger has passed.

Protection restores safety.

Retaliation creates a new cycle.

If someone attempts physical violence, reasonable self-defence may be necessary. One should seek safety, contact appropriate authorities, preserve evidence and use proportionate means to stop the threat. Spiritual practices such as prayer, grounding, meditation or protective symbolism may support courage and clarity, but they should not replace practical action.

Lock the door.

Leave the dangerous environment.

Call for help.

Consult the doctor.

Report the threat.

The higher realms will not be offended because you also used the telephone.

The same applies to claimed spiritual attack. Before declaring war upon invisible enemies, examine ordinary causes. Is the exhaustion connected to sleep? Is the financial loss connected to a bad agreement? Is the illness medical? Is the frightening dream connected to stress, trauma or medication? Is the conflict connected to communication?

Discernment begins with the simplest adequate explanation.

This does not deny the practitionerโ€™s spiritual worldview. It prevents the worldview from swallowing every part of reality.

Blessing the Attacker

The original principle remains: where possible, defend yourself without intentionally destroying the attacker. Blessing an enemy does not mean approving the enemyโ€™s act. It means refusing to reproduce the hatred that created it.

To bless may mean wishing that ignorance gives way to understanding, that violence stops, that justice acts and that the person no longer harms anyone. It may also mean releasing obsessive revenge so that the attacker does not continue occupying your consciousness without paying rent.

A firm boundary can be a blessing.

Reporting a dangerous person can protect future victims.

Leaving an abusive relationship can interrupt a karmic cycle.

Refusing revenge can protect your own Soul.

The true mystic does not confuse kindness with lack of spine.

If someone enters your house to harm you, you are not required to serve tea while discussing universal brotherhood. Act to preserve life. But once safety is restored, do not turn protection into cruelty.

Proportion matters.

Intention matters.

Necessity matters.

Higher Vibration Is Not Invincibility

It is often said that a person vibrating at a higher frequency cannot be reached by lower forces. This idea contains a useful mystical meaning: when consciousness is rooted in love, clarity, discipline and truth, it becomes less vulnerable to manipulation, fear and provocation.

But we must not misuse this teaching.

A spiritually sincere person can still become ill, encounter crime, suffer injustice or make mistakes. If we claim that purity guarantees physical invincibility, we may blame victims for not being โ€œhigh vibrationโ€ enough. That is cruel and false.

Higher consciousness is not a bulletproof jacket.

It is an inner orientation.

It may help one recognize danger earlier, remain calm, choose wisely and refuse psychological entanglement. It does not cancel every material law or another personโ€™s free choice.

Therefore, practise spiritually and act practically.

Meditateโ€”and maintain boundaries.

Prayโ€”and obtain medical care.

Blessโ€”and document the threat.

Trust intuitionโ€”and verify the contract.

Love humanityโ€”and do not give your password to humanity.

Balance is the law.

The Three Shields

A true Student may think of protection through three shields:

1. The Shield of Character

Do not create unnecessary enemies through deceit, cruelty and arrogance. Live honestly. Keep agreements. Control speech. Apologize when wrong. Many so-called spiritual attacks are ordinary consequences wearing dramatic clothing.

2. The Shield of Discernment

Do not believe every threat, prophecy or rumour. Examine evidence. Understand suggestion. Know when fear is being sold. Consult qualified people. A frightened mind can injure itself while trying to escape an enemy that does not exist.

3. The Shield of Practical and Spiritual Discipline

Care for health, secure the environment, understand the law, maintain supportive relationships and practise grounding, prayer or meditation according to your path. The strongest protection is rarely one object. It is a well-ordered life.

The person who attacks others is desperate for increasingly elaborate shields because aggression has made the world appear aggressive. The person devoted to balance still protects himself, but he does not build his home inside fear.

That is the difference.

5. FRAUDSTERS IN ANCESTRAL CLOTHING

There is another group that abuses Afโ€™rakan spiritual knowledge without possessing any spiritual power at all.

These are the fraudsters.

They borrow symbols, titles, languages and sacred objects in order to deceive. Their methods resemble those of dishonest pastors, false prophets, online investment scammers and every other professional hunter of desperation. The costume changes; the business model remains familiar.

They promise instant wealth.

They promise irresistible love.

They promise political victory.

They promise supernatural protection from crimes the client is planning to commit.

They promise to recover lost relationships, double money, reveal lottery numbers or defeat every enemy within a suspiciously convenient number of days.

They often begin with confidence and end with urgency.

โ€œThere is a terrible blockage.โ€

โ€œYour family is against you.โ€

โ€œYou must pay before sunset.โ€

โ€œDo not tell anyone.โ€

โ€œIf you stop now, something worse will happen.โ€

This sequence is not initiation. It is coercive sales technique wearing an amulet.

How Fear Becomes a Business

Fear reduces critical thinking. Once a client believes death, madness or family destruction is near, ordinary financial caution disappears. The fraudster then becomes the only person offering escape.

This is why a dishonest practitioner must keep the client afraid. If peace returns, revenue may decline.

New enemies are therefore discovered. New rituals are required. The client is told not to seek another opinion because โ€œmixing energiesโ€ is dangerous. Isolation protects the deception.

The same pattern appears in many abusive spiritual and religious environments: authority is used to frighten, control and create dependency.

The true teacher does the opposite. The true teacher gives information, explains uncertainty, respects choice and strengthens the seekerโ€™s ability to think.

Warning Signs of Spiritual Fraud

Be cautious when a practitioner:

  • Guarantees wealth, marriage, healing or supernatural results within a fixed short period.
  • Discovers an urgent curse immediately before requesting a large payment.
  • Refuses to explain what a fee covers.
  • Demands secrecy from every trusted friend or family member.
  • Threatens disaster if you decline or stop paying.
  • Requests illegal acts, human body parts, sexual contact or harm to an animal outside lawful and ethical practice.
  • Provides unknown substances without ingredients, dosage or safety information.
  • Orders you to abandon necessary medical treatment.
  • Claims absolute accuracy and never admits uncertainty.
  • Blames every failed promise upon your doubt while taking credit for every coincidence.
  • Requires control of your bank account, property, passwords or intimate images.
  • Uses private information to blackmail or shame you.
  • Repeatedly creates emergencies that only more money can solve.

These signs do not prove every spiritual practitioner is fraudulent. They reveal patterns requiring investigation.

The Fraudster Damages More Than the Victim

When a fraudster steals in the name of Afโ€™rakan spirituality, the immediate victim loses money, trust and sometimes health. But the wider tradition also suffers.

The public sees the deception and concludes that every diviner is a liar.

The public sees abuse and concludes that every ancestral practice is demonic.

The public sees a poisonous mixture and concludes that indigenous herbal knowledge has no value.

The public sees ritual violence and concludes that our gods demand wickedness.

Thus the fraudster becomes an unpaid public-relations officer for those who wish to demonize Afโ€™raka.

He provides evidence to the oppressor.

He takes the sacred root, covers it in criminal mud and then complains that nobody wants to touch it.

This is why practitioners must regulate themselves ethically and support lawful accountability. Protecting the tradition does not mean protecting criminals from consequence. Reporting fraud, abuse, poisoning or violence is not betrayal of the ancestors.

It is defence of their name.

Not Every Tradition Is a Medical Treatment

We must also separate spiritual practice from medical claims.

Herbal knowledge can possess real value. Traditional healing has served communities for generations and remains important across Afโ€™raka. But every product intended to treat disease should be examined for safety, quality, dosage, contamination, interactions and effectiveness.

Respect and evidence can work together.

If a preparation helps, investigation does not insult it.

If it harms, tradition should not hide it.

If evidence is uncertain, the practitioner should be honest.

If urgent biomedical care is required, delay can kill.

The true healer seeks the well-being of the patient, not victory in an argument between systems.

The healer who would rather let a client die than refer him to a hospital is not defending tradition. He is defending ego.

Likewise, a doctor who mocks every cultural practice without understanding it may alienate patients and ignore valuable knowledge. The proper future is careful study, ethical practice, regulation, respect and collaboration where safe and appropriate.

Afโ€™raka does not need to choose between ancestral amnesia and dangerous romanticism.

We can remember and examine.

We can honour and improve.

We can preserve and protect.

That is awakening.

6. THE PATH OF LIGHT: WHAT SPIRITUAL POWER IS ACTUALLY FOR

Many people do not understand how deep spirituality and mysticism truly are. They imagine the path is mainly a collection of spectacular operations: talisman making, spellcraft, invocation, potions, manipulation of conditions, control of weather, elemental work and demonstrations of psychic ability.

Traditions contain stories and teachings concerning such practices. But even within the mystical worldview, these are not the foundation.

The foundation is consciousness.

The true purpose of spirituality is not to surpass other people. It is to rise above ignorance within oneself and enter greater harmony with life.

The practitioner should first study:

  • The laws of cause and effect.
  • The discipline of thought and speech.
  • The nature of the lower and higher self.
  • Emotional regulation and honest self-observation.
  • Consent, confidentiality and non-exploitation.
  • The symbolic and practical meanings of the elements.
  • Grounding and care of the physical body.
  • The difference between intuition, imagination, fear and evidence.
  • The responsible interpretation of dreams and visions.
  • Service to others without creating dependency.
  • The limits of personal knowledge.

Only when the Student has built a foundation should more advanced practices be consideredโ€”and even then, only within suitable guidance.

Mastering the Four Elements

To master the elements is not merely to command wind, fire, water and earth like a character in an expensive fantasy film.

The deeper mystical meaning begins within.

Earth concerns stability, embodiment, patience, work and material responsibility. A Student who cannot manage ordinary life has not mastered Earth.

Water concerns emotion, intuition, adaptability and the depths of the subconscious. A Student drowning in every feeling has not mastered Water.

Air concerns thought, communication, knowledge and mental movement. A Student carried away by rumour, fantasy and pride has not mastered Air.

Fire concerns will, transformation, desire and directed energy. A Student whose anger burns everyone nearby has not mastered Fire.

The outer element reflects an inner principle.

Before claiming command over a storm, command the storm within.

Before invoking fire, understand what your desire is burning.

Before working with water, learn not to drown in emotion.

Before calling the winds, learn whether your mind can remain in one place.

Before drawing a circle upon the ground, become grounded.

This is the Path of Light.

Awakening the Psychic Centres

Many Students desire the opening of psychic centres. They seek telepathy, clairvoyance, dream recall, astral projection and sensitivity to subtle impressions.

But an open centre without discernment can become a door through which fear enters.

The Student must learn interpretation, grounding, emotional balance and the ability to suspend judgment. Not every thought belongs to another person. Not every dream predicts an event. Not every inner voice is a guide. Not every shadow is an entity. Not every coincidence is a cosmic memorandum addressed personally to you.

Psychic development should make the practitioner more careful, not more absolute.

The higher the sensitivity, the greater the humility.

If an experience cannot be verified, present it as an impression rather than a fact. If the message could cause harm, consider whether silence, careful wording or professional referral is wiser. If the Student cannot distinguish inner imagery from physical reality, advanced practice should stop until stability is restored.

The aim is integration.

Unity with the Higher Self

The Higher Self is not an excuse for superiority. It is the deeper aspect of consciousness aligned with truth, wisdom and the evolution of the Soul.

Union with the Higher Self should gradually produce:

  • Greater honesty.
  • Greater compassion.
  • Greater self-command.
  • Greater respect for freedom.
  • Greater calm in the presence of provocation.
  • Greater capacity to serve without demanding worship.
  • Greater willingness to admit error.
  • Less fascination with spectacle.

If a person claims union with the Higher Self but becomes increasingly cruel, fearful and manipulative, the claim should be examined.

The fruit reveals the tree.

The True Use of Power

Spiritual power, where genuinely developed and responsibly understood, should be directed toward:

  • Self-knowledge.
  • Healing and support within oneโ€™s competence.
  • Clarification rather than fear.
  • Protection without vengeance.
  • Restoration of balance.
  • Service to community.
  • Preservation of sacred knowledge.
  • Awakening people from mental slavery.
  • Strengthening compassion, courage and responsibility.
  • Advancing the Soul.

The greatest sign of power is not that people fear you.

It is that people become freer, wiser and safer after encountering you.

The healer should not need the patient to remain sick.

The teacher should not need the Student to remain dependent.

The diviner should not need the client to remain frightened.

The leader should not need the community to remain ignorant.

True Light multiplies Light.

It does not build a throne from other peopleโ€™s darkness.

AN ETHICAL CODE FOR THE AWAKENED PRACTITIONER

To protect Afโ€™rakan spirituality and those who seek it, I propose the following code.

1. DO NO DELIBERATE HARM

Do not use spiritual authority, ritual, herbs, suggestion, private knowledge or physical action to injure another person. When defence is necessary, use proportionate means directed toward safety rather than revenge.

2. RESPECT FREE WILL AND CONSENT

Do not bind, drug, coerce or manipulate another person into love, sex, loyalty, payment or obedience. Consent must be informed and freely given.

3. TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT UNCERTAINTY

Do not present impressions as unquestionable facts. Distinguish mystical belief, symbolic interpretation, personal experience and verified evidence.

4. PROTECT CONFIDENTIALITY

Private information received during consultation, training or ritual must not become gossip, content or blackmail.

5. DO NOT EXPLOIT FEAR

Never invent curses, enemies or emergencies in order to collect money or control behaviour.

6. CHARGE FAIRLY AND CLEARLY

Spiritual work may involve fees, but prices and services should be explained. Donations must be voluntary. Do not financially destroy those who seek help.

7. KNOW THE LIMITS OF YOUR COMPETENCE

Refer medical, psychological, legal and security matters to qualified professionals when required. Do not let pride endanger life.

8. USE SAFE MATERIALS AND METHODS

Know the identity, dosage, quality, interactions and risks of any substance offered. Do not secretly administer preparations.

9. PROTECT THE VULNERABLE

Never use accusations of witchcraft or spiritual contamination to justify violence against children, elders, people with disabilities, people with albinism or those experiencing illness.

10. DEVELOP CHARACTER BEFORE POWER

Train the mind, emotions, conduct and sense of responsibility before approaching advanced methods.

11. ACCEPT ACCOUNTABILITY

No title, lineage, deity or secret oath places the practitioner above ethical judgment or lawful consequence.

12. SERVE THE EVOLUTION OF THE SOUL

Let every practice be measured by whether it increases truth, balance, compassion, freedom and responsible growth.

Any practitioner unwilling to live by such principles should not complain when society questions the practice.

Respect is not demanded by costume.

It is earned through conduct.

CONCLUSION: DO NOT AID THOSE WHO DEMONIZED OUR ROOT

Afโ€™raka has suffered greatly from the invasion and domination of foreign religious movements. Our traditions were mocked. Our gods and goddesses were demonized. Our symbols were called evil. Our healers were dismissed. Our history was reduced. Our children were taught to fear the spiritual language of their ancestors.

This history is real.

But we must not respond by protecting everything performed in the name of tradition.

If we do, we will become partners in our own misrepresentation.

To the practitioners who exploit, threaten, poison, deceive, accuse and destroy: there is no honour in what you do. You are not defending Afโ€™raka. You are assisting those who wish to present Afโ€™rakan spirituality as darkness.

Every innocent person you accuse becomes evidence against the tradition.

Every desperate client you defraud becomes a witness against the ancestors.

Every unknown substance you administer carelessly damages the reputation of genuine herbal knowledge.

Every act of ritual violence helps the oppressor say, โ€œWe told you so.โ€

Do not aid them.

If you truly wish to practise spirituality, knock at the right door.

Learn from the foundation.

Understand natural and spiritual law.

Face the demon within before announcing war against demons outside.

Master the elements first as principles within your own consciousness.

Seek unity with the Higher Self.

Respect the free will of others.

Learn protection without vengeance.

Learn service without exploitation.

Let ascensionโ€”not dominationโ€”be the ultimate goal.

We are here to raise the frequency of Afโ€™raka by awakening our brothers and sisters from illusion, fear, religious deception, historical amnesia and spiritual ignorance. We cannot accomplish this by creating new forms of fear beneath ancestral names.

The purpose of Light is illumination.

The purpose of knowledge is liberation.

The purpose of power is responsibility.

The purpose of the path is the evolution of the Soul.

If your spirituality needs victims, it is not elevated.

If your knowledge cannot survive honest questions, it is not wisdom.

If your power destroys the helpless, it is weakness wearing a mask.

If your practice makes you hungry for worship, you have not found the Divineโ€”you have simply placed your ego upon the altar.

True spirituality does not make one less human.

It reveals the sacredness of humanity.

I hope this discourse has added a Light unto yours.
